Description:
PESHAWAR | October 14, 2025: A vibrant consultative discussion forum bringing together faculty, management, and BS students from both public and private sector Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of Peshawar was organized at the University of Peshawar by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation (KPEF). The session was attended by representatives from the Directorate of Higher Education, Directorate General Commerce & Management Education, Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA), and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Professors, Lecturers & Librarians Association (KPPLLA). Vice Chancellor Dr. Johar Ali in his inaugural remarks appreciated the KPEF’s initiative of bringing all key stakeholders on one platform for meaningful dialogue. The open discussion focused on the academic, administrative, financial, quality enhancement, employability, and career counseling aspects of the BS program. Students from different public and private universities and colleges also participated actively, highlighting issues related to examinations, semester system, research facilities, and other academic needs that require institutional attention and policy support. In his concluding address, Mr. Zariful Maani, Managing Director KPEF, appreciated the healthy debate and active participation of faculty and students. He directed KPEF staff to organize similar sessions in other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mr. Maani emphasized that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation, under its Act of 1992, has the legal mandate and responsibility to conduct studies on the prevailing education system and submit reports to the government for policy formulation. He further highlighted the lack of synergy among primary, secondary, and tertiary education, stressing the need to integrate research orientation from the elementary level to nurture quality researchers and strengthen the overall education continuum.
