Merit-cum-Inaffordability Scholarship Scheme 2026–27

Eligibility Criteria

The following twelve conditions apply to the Merit-cum-Inaffordability Scholarship Scheme 2026–27.

1. Student must have scored at least 70% marks in the last attended examination or 3.00 CGPA. In case of an Arts Specialized University, selection will be on the basis of a Merit Aptitude Test where selection is based on skills.
2. Student must have Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile.
3. Student must secure admission in an approved educational institution within Pakistan (list available on the KP-EF Official Website/HED Website/DASTAK) and must be enrolled in the first year of a BS or MS degree program.
4. Parents’/guardian’s income must not exceed Rs. 160,000 per month.
5. Scholarship will be awarded to freshly enrolled first-year students in BS and MS programs in Emerging Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Management Sciences, General Sciences, Allied Health Sciences and Arts Groups.
6. A student availing any other scholarship will not be entitled to this Scholarship Program.
7. Students must register and apply through the KP-EF Official Website and Online Scholarship Portal before 31 December 2026.
8. Scholarships will be processed through the Online Digital Portal. No direct applications to KP-EF or a university will be entertained.
9. Interviews will be held at university campuses by Scholarship Disbursement Official Committees for final recommendations.
10. Scholarships will be awarded equally among male and female students. If there are no applications in either category, scholarships will be distributed to the next candidates on merit, male or female.
11. Scholarship renewal will be based strictly on performance, requiring a 3.00 CGPA; otherwise KP-EF will discontinue the scholarship.
12. The Foundation reserves the right to amend or change the scheme, extend the date, or reject the scheme.
